Another successful day at the A'Dec showrrom Manchester for IDB refresher. Met some lovely ladies who all left having achieved analgesia and a successful block!.
Looking forward to the next one which is in Egham and is FULL. Have provisionally arranged the next two dates for 17th June Manchester and 24th June, Egham.
Also booking now the Introduction to Complementary Therapies in Dentistry. We will look at Hypnosis - where can you train? What can it be used for in Dentistry? How does it work? Is it of value outside dentistry?

2017 - New Year new courses

Welcome to 2017
Following the success of two LA refreshers at the end of last year, some new dates have been added.  I have also listed some dates for an 'Intro to Complementary Therapies as Adjuncts in Dentistry'
This has always been a topic of interest to me. Having qualified an Neuro Linguistic Programming to Master Practitioner and Trainer level, as well as Hypnosis Applied to Dentistry, Thought Field Therapy (a meridian tapping therapy) and Dental Acupuncture , I decided to share my knowledge and experiences with fellow dental professionals.

LA Refresher and IDB's

Now booking the next LA Refresher courses for dental hygienists and dental therapists. The course not only covers technique, but also anxiety and phobia as well as how to chose the correct local bearing in mind the patients medical  history, and medication.
Cant wait to get back to teaching in Manchester and Egham again!!

Update on Extended Duties for Dental Nurses

Just been informed by A'Dec in Nuneaton that I can have a few more Dental Nurses on my extended duties course coming up at the end of November!
'That's really good news for any dental nurses out there who were previously told that spaces were full
So if there are any Dental Nurses who wish to upgrade there CPD and skills, check out the dates for Fluoride Varnish application, Recording and Measuring Plaque using Indices and Impression Taking.
The Impression taking course is also available to any dental therapists and dental hygienists who missed out on this extended duty last time around.

New dates and New venues

So pleased to be announcing another LA refesher course to be held in Bromley, Kent.  The last one was so successful and fabulously facilitated by Debbie Hemington, I am happy to be arranging another date.  This will be another Saturday...March 28th 2015.
Extended duties courses for dental nurses almost full atthe A'dec centre in Nuneaton and looking at dates now to run the same course at Salford Quays in Manchester. This will be my first extended duties course 'up north' so watch this space for dates.

New Course and New Dates

So excited to be adding new dates to my agenda.  Local Anaesthetic refresher courses for dental hygienists and dental therapists - dotted around the country, and more extended duties course for qualified dental nurses.
This time I am introducing a new format AND a new venue.  I have been lucky to aquire the A'dec showroom in Nuneaton - so central and easy to get to.
I have also looked at a new format.  Day one will be a foundation day.  Any candidates who have not attended one of my courses before will be expected to attend this.

BSDHT Regional Meeting

Lovely day at the BSDHT regional meeting in Tunbridge Wells on the 5th April. The weather was glorious and the delegates welcoming.  I talked about NLP and Hypnosis in Dentistry and had a thoughoughly good time.  Met up with some ex students and colleagues.  I even received a handwritten letter from Janet Scott the secretary thanking me for my lecture - now that is classy!!

Dental Acupuncture

This weekend I attended the British Dental Acupuncture introductory course. I see this as another string to my bow, and another tool in the box for treating anxioius patients.  As all anxious and phobic patients are different so the approach we need to take to treating them should be different and individual.
There have been many papers relating to the use of acupuncture in the dental journals over the years and it's main value appears to be in the management of patients with a severe gag reflex.

Happy New Year to all!!
Now the festivities are over and it is 'back to work' it is time to think about up and coming courses.
Firstly there is the LA refresher course for Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists in London on the 8th February and in Manchester on the 15th February.  These courses are in conjunction with Aspiradent and need to be booked through their website
